Unisono: 3LASCH004V

Every week, Tuesdays from 16:15 - 18:45 in
room US-D210 starting from April 09

The first meeting is on April 09 in room US-D210

Led by Prof. Dr. Matthias Laschke, M.Sc. Madlen Kneile, and Dr. Judith Dörrenbächer

In this project (A/B/C) we will circle around the subject of designing technology to change the relationship between humans and nature in light of the climate crisis and the need for sustainable action.

Therefore, we take the field of more-than-human design (also called non- or post-anthropocentric design), as our starting point. This direction in HCI questions the central role of the human in technology design and focuses on the equal consideration of the needs of alle entities, especially non-human ones.

In our project, we will focus specifically on non-human entities of nature. Among other questions, we will ask: How can we design technology to change the relationship between humans and nature? What practices between humans and nature can emerge through different kinds of technology? And how do we design technology to stand up for nature and demand sustainable human behavior?

To explore these questions, the project will focus on a hands-on and design-oriented way of building objects, tools, and things.
